The Role

The Senior Test Analyst plays a crucial role in strategizing, executing, and documenting all aspects of both automated and manual system assessments of modifications, spanning from system integration evaluations to deployment in production environments. This encompasses positive assessments, regression evaluations, non-functional assessments, reliability checks, usability evaluations, and ensuring efficient maintenance and portability standards. In this capacity, you will:

  • Thoroughly review and comprehend the system-related expectations.
  • Develop comprehensive test strategies utilizing static analysis and evaluating user requirements, user narratives, system specifications, and functional or logical documentation to guarantee system functionality aligns with expectations.
  • Leverage prior expertise to determine the scope of testing throughout all project phases.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to facilitate systematic and efficient testing.
  • Conduct comprehensive testing across integrated applications and technical platforms.
  • Ensure adequate test coverage to uphold quality standards.
  • Enhance testing methodologies to reduce manual efforts and timelines.
  • Propose industry best practices, testing tools, and technologies to refine existing processes.
  • Utilize knowledge and experience to identify potential risks in systems and prioritize testing to uncover critical defects early.
  • Execute tests, assess actual outcomes, and generate variance reports as necessary.
  • Assist fellow test analysts in resolving moderately complex issues.
  • Provide advanced technical support and guidance to test analysts.
  • Mentor and share expertise with test analysts and other personnel within the department and across the organization.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience in system testing or quality assurance, including the creation and execution of test plans and cases.
  • Preferred 3-5 years of testing experience within specific internal system platforms.
  • Post-secondary education in a technology-related field or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of testing methodologies and the software testing lifecycle, including estimation, test planning, requirement analysis, test case development, defect management, and test monitoring.
  • Experience in data compilation, analysis, and report generation for management.
  • Proficient in estimating work efforts, scheduling tasks, and regularly reporting progress.
  • Experience in writing queries against Oracle databases.
  • Familiarity with specific systems and tools would be advantageous.
  • Business knowledge of relevant agricultural programs would be a significant asset.
  • ISTQB certification or equivalent testing credentials would be beneficial.
  • Experience with tracking software would be an asset.
  • Agile testing experience would be a plus.
