About the Role
The Assistant Maintenance Manager plays a critical leadership role in ensuring the smooth operation of industrial facilities. This position requires a unique blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and interpersonal skills to lead a team of maintenance professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
- Lead a team of maintenance technicians to ensure timely completion of tasks and projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize maintenance needs.
- Manage budgets and resources to ensure effective use of maintenance funds.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective service.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance processes and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as engineering or business.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in maintenance leadership or a related field.
- Proven track record of success in leading maintenance teams and improving equipment performance.
- Strong technical knowledge of industrial equipment and systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Knowledge of industrial safety protocols and regulations.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and electrical schematics.
Physical Demands
- Requires the ability to stand for prolonged periods and walk extensively throughout the facility.
- Requires repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking.
- Requires lifting parts and tools weighing on average 20 pounds, occasionally weighing up to 49 pounds.
- Requires dexterity in eye/hand coordination, feet (foot pedals) manual (picking, pinching, holding, grasping), and wrist motion (repetitive flexion/rotation).
