As a key member of the Engineering Department, reporting directly to the Survey Leader, you will play a vital role in the precise measurement and documentation of mine development activities. Your contributions will ensure that the collected data is accurately represented on mining plans, facilitating effective communication and operational efficiency.

  • Set up laser stations and conduct routine survey updates for all underground development headings.
  • Ensure timely transfer of all survey data onto the relevant mining plans for accessibility by end users.
  • Generate a bi-monthly report detailing the mine-wide development metrics and the corresponding volume excavated, categorizing each metric as either operational or capital expenditure.
  • Conduct regular void scan surveys of production stopes at various stages to assess production status, utilizing advanced technologies such as CMS and UG Drone.
  • Perform hole collar pick-up, breakthrough, and gyroscopic surveys for long-hole production drilling to assist drill and blast teams with stope blast design and timing.
  • Contribute to the creation and refinement of standardized procedures for surveying tasks.
  • Provide support to the Open Pit survey team as required.
  • Champion Health and Safety initiatives by engaging in departmental safety activities.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESS

  • Degree in mining, civil engineering, or geomatics.
  • At least 1 year of surveying experience within a production mining environment.
  • Proficient in using survey equipment, including total stations, CMS, drones, and rovers.
  • Familiarity with Deswik software is an advantage.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
