About the Role
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Bella Coola General Hospital in Bella Coola, BC. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the hospital's mission to deliver exceptional healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients/clients on the inpatient ward, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, and develop strategies to address these needs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and monitor patients' responses to these interventions.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Completion of a recognized advanced nursing program in emergency or critical care nursing, or one year recent, related experience in emergency or critical care nursing.
- Broad knowledge of nursing theory and practice within a client/family centred model of care.
- Demonstrated ability in nursing practice related to designated client group.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and implement care plans.
- Demonstrated ability to assess patient/client/resident responses to care, and to respond appropriately.
- Demonstrated ability to adjust to unexpected events, problem-solve, set priorities and deal with conflict.
