Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Barista to join our team at Fairmont Chateau Laurier. As a Barista, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, preparing and serving coffee and beverages, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Offer professional, friendly, and engaging service to guests
  • Provide recommendations to guests and handle end-to-end customer orders
  • Sell and prepare coffee drinks and beverages according to prescribed recipes and preparation techniques
  • Answer customer questions and present and explain various beverage offerings
  • Maintain inventories and equipment, and perform preventive maintenance
  • Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to health and safety guidelines
Requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal and English communication skills
  • French will be an asset
  • Professional presentation and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Highly responsible and reliable
  • Retail and food and beverage experience will be considered an asset
Physical Aspects of the Position
  • Frequent standing and walking throughout shift
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramp
