Millwright - Red Seal Job Description

Adecco Canada is seeking a skilled Millwright - Red Seal to join our client's team in Abbotsford, BC. This full-time role involves performing repairs, preventive maintenance inspections, and troubleshooting machinery to ensure minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform repairs and preventative maintenance inspections on production line equipment to ensure optimal performance and reduce downtime.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Develop and follow a preventative maintenance schedule to identify and address potential issues before they become major problems.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot machinery and respond promptly to on-floor calls and emergencies to minimize downtime.
  • Spare Parts Management: Identify and order spare parts as needed to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
  • Work Scheduling: Complete a work schedule in cooperation with Maintenance & Production Supervisors to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Contractor Liaison: Act as a liaison for contractors conducting repairs within the plant to ensure smooth communication and coordination.
  • Documentation: Ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and on time, including daily time sheets, pre-operational forms, maintenance logs, and work orders.
  • Skilled Tasks: Perform various skilled tasks such as electrical work, PLC programming, refrigeration, hydraulics, pneumatics, vacuum, plumbing, and fabricating as required.
  • Health and Safety: Comply with Health and Safety regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety standards, and Environmental guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements:
  • Eligibility: Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada.
  • Red Seal Millwright License: A valid Red Seal Millwright License is required.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience with food packaging equipment and industrial maintenance.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of electronics, PLC technologies, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Additional Licenses: Additional Skilled Trade Licenses are an asset.
  • Communication: Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
  • Decision-Making: Ability to assess decisions and work effectively under pressure.
