Job Summary:

The Psychosocial Rehabilitation Assistant provides day-to-day support to children and adolescents with complex mental health issues and associated developmental, cognitive, and behavioral disorders in a multidisciplinary team setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with therapeutic programming and implementation of individual and group program plans under the guidance of Registered Nurses and Family Counselors.
  • Support the multidisciplinary team in providing care to patients in an in-patient or day treatment Mental Health program.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans that address the unique needs of each patient.
  • Provide therapeutic support to patients who may be holding in Emergency Department or who are placed 'off service' in medical units throughout the hospital.

Requirements:

  • Completion of diploma in Social Work or Child and Youth Care or completion of Bachelor's Degree in Psychology.
  • Knowledge and understanding of child and adolescent development, and therapeutic interventions is essential to optimal patient care.
  • Preferred qualifications include Brain Story Certification and Collaborative problem solving training.
