About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Field Staff to join our Restoration team at the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA). As a Field Staff, you will play a critical role in supporting the implementation of ecological restoration projects, with a focus on habitat restoration and resource management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute general field work duties related to specific project/program areas, including collecting and inputting field data, ensuring quality control and assurance measures, and performing traffic control duties on project sites.
  • Operate appropriate machinery and equipment required to execute work duties, including chainsaws, drills, line trimmers, generators, skid steers, and mini excavators.
  • Assist with the transportation of materials to and from sites as required, and direct the public to project notice signage.
  • Participate in daily safety meetings, including tailgate meetings, hazard identification, and emergency planning.
  • Maintain equipment, including storage, organization, and minor repairs, and report potential maintenance requirements to the supervisor.
Requirements
  • Pursuing a post-secondary diploma or degree in a related field.
  • Valid Class G2 Driver's License.
  • Valid Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C Certification.
  • Familiarity with basic equipment and power tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with tact and courtesy.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively identify problems in a timely manner, seeking the appropriate level of support to solve issues.
  • Proficiency in MS Office for general office communications.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act, related Regulations, and legislation.
  • Ability to lift or carry objects that could weigh up to 45lbs.
