Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Industrial Plant Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at Venture Carpets. This is a permanent position that offers a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week.

Work Environment

The role involves working in various settings, including:

  • Machinery installation
  • Maintenance and repair of industrial equipment
  • Machine set-up and testing
Key Responsibilities

As a member of our maintenance team, your tasks will include:

  • Assembling mechanical equipment and stationary industrial machinery
  • Detecting and troubleshooting irregularities and malfunctions
  • Reading blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Repairing or replacing defective machinery parts
  • Fabricating parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up
  • Estimating costs and materials for maintenance tasks
  • Performing routine maintenance work on machinery
  • Operating machining tools to fabricate parts
  • Programming programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
  • Installing machinery and equipment
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Education: Other trades certificate or diploma
  • Certification: Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Trade Certification
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years in a similar role
Skills and Abilities

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to bend, crouch, and kneel
  • Capability to stand for extended periods
  • Team player mentality
Equipment Experience

Familiarity with the following equipment is preferred:

  • Automated and robotic systems
  • Electrical and electronic controls
  • High-speed packaging equipment
  • Industrial and stationary engines
  • Power tools
