Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Cashier to manage transactions efficiently and provide excellent customer service in a retail environment. This role is essential for ensuring smooth operations at the point of sale.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year to less than 2 years of relevant experience is preferred.
Work Environment

The position is based in a retail business, where you will interact with customers and handle various payment methods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate the cash register with accuracy.
  • Process payments including cash, cheques, and credit/debit cards.
  • Scan items and ensure correct pricing.
  • Calculate total payments for goods or services rendered.
  • Receive and manage payments effectively.
  • Reconcile daily or shift payments with total sales.
  • Provide a welcoming atmosphere by greeting customers.
  • Package merchandise appropriately for customers.
  • Handle foreign currency exchanges when necessary.
  • Verify customer age for restricted items such as lottery tickets, alcohol, or tobacco.
Security and Compliance

A criminal record check is required to ensure safety and compliance with company policies.

Work Schedule

This is a permanent position with a commitment of 40 hours per week. The primary language of work is English.
