Stuart Olson is actively looking for skilled Journeyman and Apprentice Pipefitters to enhance our maintenance crew at a client site in Cold Lake, AB. We offer a full-time position with a schedule of 8 days on and 6 days off, requiring 10 hours of work each day. Local candidates will be prioritized. Please note that no accommodation or living out allowance is provided.
Key Responsibilities
As a Journeyman Pipefitter reporting to the Foreman, your duties will include:
Repairing and maintaining piping systems that transport water, steam, chemicals, or fuel for various processes. Ensuring the upkeep of pressurized piping systems. Conducting hydro tests and installing fabricated pipe spools within structural steel modular assemblies, including necessary support installations. Keeping all tools, workspaces, and equipment organized and clean. Interpreting and understanding construction fabrication drawings and specifications provided by clients and the company. Maintaining a clean and hazard-free work environment. Returning tools and equipment to designated storage areas. Reporting all incidents, including near misses and any damages or injuries. Participating in the development of safe work practices and procedures as needed. Performing additional tasks and labor duties as required on-site.Working Environment
Engaging in work both indoors and outdoors, facing varying weather conditions Performing tasks at heights Working in environments with noise and dust Adhering to personal grooming standards, including being clean-shaven Utilizing personal protective equipment such as steel-toed boots and safety glassesRequired Qualifications
Valid Journeyman Pipefitter certification Completion of an apprenticeship program Possession of a valid driver's license H2S Alive certification Emergency First Aid training Common Safety Orientation (CSO) certification Confined Space training Fall Protection training Experience in heavy oil operational settings Familiarity with maintenance processes is an advantage Ability to follow directions and complete tasks as instructed A strong commitment to safety practices Capacity to work effectively in a team environment with a positive attitude Excellent written and verbal communication skills Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing requiredPhysical Demands
Ability to stand or walk for extended periods Capability to crouch and kneel for prolonged durations Ability to lift weights up to 25kg Regular climbing of stairs and ladders Exposure to potential hazards such as heights, power tools, slips, falls, and sharp tools Requirement to work with a full-face mask in confined space environmentsAbout Us
