Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Gardener Sr to join our team at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a key member of our grounds maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the temple grounds reflect the beauty, cleanliness, and sacred nature of the temple experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain high standards of grounds maintenance, adhering to established guidelines and regulations.
  • Supervise and assist gardeners and volunteers in their duties, providing technical guidance and support.
  • Diagnose and address pest control issues, develop spray programs, and apply fertilizers as needed.
  • Operate and maintain power equipment, including tractors and edgers, to ensure efficient and safe grounds maintenance.
  • Assist in supervising temporary and volunteer help, ensuring effective teamwork and communication.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, and assist in the development of maintenance schedules.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and effective communication.
Requirements
  • Three to five years of experience in grounds maintenance, horticulture, gardening, agriculture, landscape design, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of various plants, fertilizers, and pest control methods.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform manual labor in a fast-paced environment.
