Strategic Leader for Corporate Programs and Chief Financial Officer

In alignment with the Nova Scotia Government's Road Forward Strategic Plan, IWK Health is embarking on a journey to transform the healthcare experience and culture in Nova Scotia. Our Board-approved Strategic Plan focuses on initiatives and priorities within Nova Scotia and the Maritime Provinces.
The Vice President, Corporate Programs and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will play a critical role in leading the financial, capital, and facilities, digital transformation, environmental sustainability targets, logistics, and procurement, audit, internal controls, and risk management of the operations of IWK Health. This position will oversee a portfolio with overall responsibility for over 1,000 staff (FTE) and a budget of approximately $80 million for operating and capital (22% of the overall Health Centre budget).
About the RoleThe Vice President, Corporate Programs and CFO will lead all elements of the portfolio in relentless pursuit of the objectives and actions that are developed to support the Road Forward Strategic Plan while aligning with and championing IWK Health's strategy. This role will work closely with the IWK Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that raises funds to support the urgent priority needs of IWK Health.
About YouWe are seeking a highly experienced and strategic leader to fill this critical role. The ideal candidate will have a professional accounting designation complemented by a university degree in Health, Business Administration, or equivalent (preferably at the master's level). A minimum of 10 years of experience in successfully leading finance, facilities, and operations in a complex organization, and strategic leadership experience at the Executive and Board level is required.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to develop and lead solid governance and internal control environments. They will be passionate about developing and supporting team members and leaders and developing an ethical, high-performing culture. Strong executive presence, change management skills, and the ability to partner with fellow executives, Board, and external partners to achieve results through collaboration are essential.
