Your Role:

The Clinical Educator (CE) position focuses on overseeing the EMS Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) initiatives. This role encompasses the design and implementation of orientation programs for new MIH staff, alongside providing clinical guidance and developing educational modules for personnel. Collaboration with MIH Operations and Quality and Patient Safety teams is essential for various projects.

Key Responsibilities:

As an EMS Clinical Educator, your duties will include:

  • Identifying and creating training programs tailored to the needs of EMS practitioners.
  • Implementing educational initiatives and ensuring effective learning transfer into practice.
  • Supporting the competency evaluation process for EMS staff.
  • Offering continuous learning and development assistance to EMS personnel.

Facilitation methods will encompass lectures, e-learning, simulation exercises, and real-time coaching tailored to specific situations.

Essential Qualifications:

Candidates must possess:

  • Completion of an accredited Advanced Care Paramedic program recognized by the Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP).
  • Active registration and practice permit with the ACP.
  • A valid Class 4 Alberta Operator's Licence with a maximum of six (6) demerits.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
  • Successful completion of the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation within the stipulated timeframe.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with the following will be favored:

  • A minimum of five years of field experience as an Advanced Care Paramedic, with ongoing clinical engagement through field rotations.
  • Experience in delivering adult education, both in classroom and online settings.
  • Familiarity with EMS Mobile Integrated Health or similar community paramedic programs.

Desirable Qualifications:

Additional assets include:

  • Instructor certifications in ACLS, ACLS-EP, PALS, ITLS, NRP, BLS (CPR), NVCI, and The Working Minds for First Responders.
  • Post-secondary education or a degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience in audiovisual/computer software, curriculum development, and instructional design.
