We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Social Worker to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide professional psychosocial assessment and interventions to individuals, families, and groups, promoting effective coping and adaptation to health-related issues.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments to identify client needs and develop effective intervention plans.
- Provide a range of psychosocial interventions, including individual, family, and group therapy, to support clients in managing health-related issues.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless transitions and effective care coordination.
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with team members, participating in team planning and problem-solving.
- Perform administrative tasks as required, including maintaining accurate records and reports.
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Social Work from a Canadian Association for Social Work Education (CASWE) accredited school or a Provincially authorized post-secondary program.
- Registration with the Manitoba College of Social Workers.
- Two years of recent and relevant experience in social work, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to professional development and ongoing learning.
- Competency in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge of Indigenous customs, traditions, and values.
- Experience working with vulnerable populations, including children, youth, and families.
- Knowledge of health and social welfare systems, including community resources and services.
This role may involve working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with exposure to infectious diseases, blood and body fluids, and other health-related hazards. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in a team setting, with a strong commitment to patient-centered care and a focus on delivering high-quality services.
