Confined Space Entry Technician for Turnaround Projects

Vertex Resource Group Ltd. is actively seeking experienced Confined Space Entry Technicians to assist with our upcoming Turnaround project. We are looking for dedicated and skilled professionals who possess relevant industry experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in confined space work for shifts lasting up to 2 hours.
  • Maintain various positions such as standing, sitting, crouching, and kneeling for extended durations.
  • Participate in the setup and removal of energy isolation devices, including blanks and blinds.
  • Handle ventilation rigging and operate wash and vacuum equipment.
  • Follow instructions with precision and accuracy.
  • Report conditions within the confined space accurately.
  • Assist personnel in donning and doffing necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) when entering and exiting confined spaces.
  • Fulfill assigned emergency response roles, including confined space rescue duties.
  • Actively engage in safety meetings, toolbox discussions, and permit and hazard assessment reviews.
  • Prepare hazard assessments as needed.
  • Maintain composure in high-stress situations and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Support the cleaning of respiratory protective equipment.
  • Complete required inspection records for PPE and equipment.
  • Conduct daily inventory checks of trailers and at the conclusion of the project.
  • Assist with operations outside of confined spaces, ensuring support equipment is maintained as directed.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in confined space entry and industrial cleaning operations.
  • Experience working under breathing air conditions.
  • Physically and mentally fit for the demands of the role.
  • Able to lift and carry weights up to 45 Kg.
  • Possession of a Class 5 driver's license is advantageous.

Requirements:

  • H2S Alive certification.
  • Fall Protection training.
  • Confined Space Entry and Monitor certification from Energy Safety Canada.
  • Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
  • Pre-employment fit testing.
  • Completion of online Vertex University training.
  • Pre-access orientation.
