Confined Space Entry Technician for Turnaround Projects

Vertex Resource Group Ltd. is actively seeking experienced Confined Space Entry Technicians to support our upcoming Turnaround project. We are looking for dedicated and skilled professionals with relevant industry experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute tasks in confined spaces for durations of up to 2 hours.
- Maintain various positions such as standing, sitting, crouching, and kneeling for extended periods.
- Assist in the installation and removal of energy isolation devices, including blanks and blinds.
- Manage ventilation rigging and operate wash and vacuum equipment.
- Follow instructions with precision and report conditions accurately within confined spaces.
- Support entry personnel in donning and doffing necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Fulfill assigned emergency response roles, including confined space rescue duties.
- Engage in safety meetings, toolbox discussions, and permit and hazard assessment reviews.
- Prepare hazard assessments as required.
- Demonstrate composure in high-pressure situations while managing multiple tasks.
- Assist in the cleaning of respiratory protective equipment.
- Complete necessary inspection records for PPE and equipment.
- Conduct daily inventory checks of trailers and ensure proper documentation at project completion.
- Support operations outside of confined spaces, maintaining equipment in designated areas as instructed.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in confined space entry and industrial cleaning operations.
- Familiarity with working under breathing air conditions.
- Physically and mentally fit for demanding tasks.
- Able to lift and carry weights up to 45 Kg.
- Possession of a Class 5 driver's license is advantageous.
Mandatory Certifications:
- H2S Alive certification.
- Fall Protection training.
- Confined Space Entry and Monitor certification - Energy Safety Canada Approved.
- Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
- Pre-employment Fit testing.
- Completion of online Vertex University training.
- Pre Access Orientation.
