Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Bartender to join our team at State & Main Kitchen and Bar. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, preparing and serving beverages, and maintaining a clean and organized bar area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Genuinely connect and communicate with every guest at the bar and every guest that you interact with.
  • Beverage Preparation: Build beverages to spec to ensure that guests receive a remarkably consistent beverage experience.
  • Bar Maintenance: Ensure the cooler and back-bar is stocked and garnishes are prepped, and beer dispensing equipment is in optimal condition.
  • Closing Duties: Evening bartenders may be involved in closing duties, including server cash reports, running closing reports, cash handling, and breaking down the bar.
  • Menu Knowledge: Take the time to effectively learn and memorize new menu items and procedures.
  • Teamwork: Proactively assist all front of house employees with table maintenance, running food, assisting to take payments, etc.
  • Guest Satisfaction: Continuously ensure that every guest leaves satisfied and happy with their experience.
  • Allergy Policies: Be knowledgeable regarding allergy policies and procedures to ensure that guests are not at risk of an allergic reaction.
  • Safety Mindset: Work each shift with a safety mindset, being proactive in regards front of the house and back of the house safety.
Requirements
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year front of house restaurant experience is preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent customer service skills, ability to make people feel at home, reliability, and ability to keep upbeat even during the busiest shifts.
  • Education: Smart Serve Certification is required.
