Educational Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A college, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program lasting 1 to 2 years
  • Specialization in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration engineering technology/technician or equivalent experience
Key Responsibilities

Your main tasks will include:

  • Installing gas heating units and their components
  • Measuring and marking reference points for the installation of gas lines and equipment
  • Installing and maintaining meters, regulators, and gas lines connecting gas units to gas meters
  • Repairing and servicing gas appliances and related equipment
  • Reviewing drawings and specifications to determine installation layouts and required materials
  • Testing and adjusting control mechanisms, checking pipes and connections for gas leaks using detection devices
  • Testing and replacing defective equipment or components
Certifications and Licenses

Required certifications include:

  • Gas Fitter Trade Certification
  • Occupational Health and Safety Certificate
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Gas Fitter Certificate - Level 1 or A
  • Gas Fitter Certificate - Level 2 or B
Safety and Security

As part of the role, a valid driver's license is necessary, and a driver's validity license check will be conducted.

Work Environment

This position involves:

  • Attention to detail
  • Physical capabilities including bending, crouching, and kneeling
Tools and Equipment

Employees are expected to provide their own tools and safety equipment, including:
