About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Registration Officer to join our team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our Registration Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of our business strategies and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Registration Process Management: You will be responsible for the Securities and Insurance registration process, performing all day-to-day registration functions, and providing guidance and counsel to employees and branches on regulatory and licensing matters.
  • Regulatory Compliance: You will ensure that all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
  • Database Management: You will be responsible for updating all applicable Registration databases, including the National Registration Database, Active Community, and Centralize.
  • Relationship Building: You will build and maintain relationships with all regulatory bodies, including provincial and US securities regulators, and stay up-to-date on regulatory changes and/or SRO requirements.
  • Administrative Functions: You will execute various administrative functions to maintain the operation of the department, provide reporting and feedback to the Manager, Registration, and identify areas of deficiencies in the registration process.
Requirements
  • Education: University degree (Business) or College certificate.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of work experience in the financial services industry.
  • Knowledge: Relevant working knowledge of Canadian and US Regulatory policies and rules.
  • Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and multi-tasking skills.
