Job Opportunity: Casual Education Assistants

Northern Gateway Public Schools is seeking qualified individuals to fill Casual Education Assistant positions throughout the division in various locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support to students in an inclusive setting, following the direction of the classroom teacher.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with children, parents, and staff.
  • Work collaboratively and co-operatively with teachers and other educational assistants in the classroom/school.
  • Understand and carry out oral and written direction, working independently with minimal instruction.
  • Demonstrate effective organizational and communication skills, respecting confidentiality and practicing professionalism with all students, staff, administration, parents, and public.
  • Aware of NGPS policies and administrative procedures, with experience working with young children and an understanding of the teaching/learning process.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and patience, with the ability to work in a team environment.
