Job Title: Solutions Architect, Information Technology

At Nexus Systems Group Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Solutions Architect to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing and implementing complex software components and applications that meet the needs of our business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze complex business requirements and generate technical specifications to design or redesign software components and applications.
  • Build, architect, design, and implement transformation plans to modernize legacy systems to highly distributed global-based systems.
  • Review designs from network infrastructure, security, data, or application development perspectives.
  • Align solutions to strategic technical and capability roadmaps and identify new shared capabilities and business opportunities.
  • Inform stakeholders about issues with current technical solutions being implemented.
  • Author architectural patterns to improve assessment teams' processes.
  • Drive the implementation of trusted policies and standards with internal teams.
  • Challenge application teams' thinking by implementing architectural design principles to improve security, resiliency, and technology footprint.
  • Continuously research current and emerging technologies and propose changes where needed.
  • Socialize with larger audiences using reporting, real-time dashboards, and education sessions.
Candidate Requirements:
  • 10+ years of software engineering/data engineering experience in the financial industry.
  • Deep understanding of risk management practices and industry trends on risk management solutions.
  • Experience building systems in Google Cloud with cloud-native components and large data sets.
  • Experience building, architecting, designing, and implementing highly distributed global-based systems.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • Good understanding of risk management function and capital management function.
  • Experience architecting a technology solution that implements a trusted governance framework, policies, and workflows.
  • Experience with structured architecture practices, hybrid cloud deployments, and on-premise to-cloud migration deployments and roadmaps.
  • Sound knowledge of various operating systems, databases, and technologies.
  • Ability to create designs and reference architectures for enterprises.
  • Responsible for implementing a trusted governance model with automated architecture assessments based on enterprise standards and policies.
  • Proven work experience as a Solution Architect or similar role.
  • Previous project management or business SME/architect experience is an asset.
  • In-depth understanding of coding languages and logic structures.
  • Disciplined in development methodology and familiar with software development technologies and concepts.
