About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Anesthesia Assistant to join our team at IWK Health. As an Anesthesia Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our anesthesiologists and other healthcare professionals in providing high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary health team to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Intervention Support: Perform or assist with interventions such as airway maintenance, line insertions, inductions, and intubations.
  • Training and Development: Train technicians, assistants, students, or interns in various aspects of anesthesia care.
  • Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operate, monitor, maintain, calibrate, and test equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Work Environment

As an Anesthesia Assistant at IWK Health, you will work in a fast-paced hospital/medical facility or clinic setting, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide exceptional patient care.

Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience: Will train.
