Electronics Manufacturing Engineer

Position Overview: The successful candidate will play a crucial role within the Manufacturing Engineering Team, focusing on the execution and integration of product design releases to achieve quality, timing, cost, and safety goals, particularly in the realm of DC circuits, logic, and associated software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage engineering releases to facilitate a cost-effective, timely, and reliable product launch. Generate necessary manufacturing documentation.
  • Serve as a point of contact for production regarding electrical and electronic challenges on the assembly line.
  • Develop comprehensive shop floor work instructions, including method outline sheets (for assembly, welding, and painting), job hazard analyses, and safe work protocols.
  • Conduct evaluations of product structure and associated costs.
  • Identify tooling needs and coordinate tooling development efforts.
  • Create tooling drawings as necessary.
  • Perform time study analyses and propose process enhancement initiatives.
  • Oversee new product introductions and monitor product/process improvement actions.
  • Prepare cost justifications for new facilities and equipment acquisitions.
  • Collaborate with various departments (purchasing, quality, maintenance, production, etc.) to ensure the timely rollout of engineering releases.
  • Review and initiate deviation requests, coordinating with the tool room and external tooling suppliers to ensure prompt implementation of product releases.
  • Support safety and health initiatives through enhancements to facilities, processes, and tooling.
  • Maintain accurate records and compile reports related to assigned responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a Manufacturing Technologist program in electrical/electronics is preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on electrical/electronics; preference for candidates with knowledge of mobile equipment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of shop floor processes and procedures.
  • Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of Excel, Word, CAD, and Inventor software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with BOM/product structuring.
  • Experience with ISO 9000 certification.
  • General knowledge of shop floor safety regulations.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to work independently on assigned projects to meet deadlines.
