Key Responsibilities- Prepare Building Layouts: Use measuring tools to create accurate layouts in accordance with building codes.
- Construct Building Frames: Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials to build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
- Install Finishing Elements: Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware to complete the building's structure.
- Maintain a Safe Work Environment: Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including working at heights training, WHMIS certification, and fall arrest protection training.
- Education and Experience: No degree, certificate, or diploma required; 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in the trade.
- Work Environment: At heights, confined spaces, noisy, and dusty environments.
- Work Setting: Construction, renovation, and commercial settings.
- Physical Demands: Bending, crouching, kneeling, handling heavy loads, and physically demanding tasks.
- Transportation and Travel: Own transportation, willing to travel regularly, and travel expenses paid by employer.
- Interpersonal Skills: Efficient communication and teamwork skills.
- Judgement and Reliability: Ability to make sound decisions and maintain a high level of reliability.
- Language and Work Hours: English language proficiency and 40 to 44 hours of work per week.
