Aircraft Engine Manager

Cargojet Inc is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Powerplant Operations to join our team. As a key member of our technical operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our aircraft engine operations, including maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO), reliability management, cost control, and strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage engine MRO costs, ensuring budgetary control while driving cost-saving opportunities through effective vendor management and contract negotiation.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and processes to optimize engine lifecycle management and ensure alignment with company goals.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to drive initiatives related to fleet expansion, engine procurement, and long-term fleet planning.
- Oversee engine maintenance programs, including scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, to ensure compliance with company manuals, regulatory requirements, and OEM standards.
- Monitor engine reliability trends and direct initiatives to enhance engine and APU performance, minimize downtime, and optimize on-wing time.
- 5+ years of experience in aircraft engine or powerplant management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of aircraft engine systems, OEM guidelines, MRO processes, and regulatory compliance (CARS / FAA).
- Proven experience managing engine reliability programs, budgeting, and vendor negotiations.
- Experience in project management and strategic planning within an aviation technical operations environment.
- Proficiency in using maintenance management software and performance tracking tools.
- Hold a valid AME license and obtain an Aircraft Certification Authority (ACA) holder pursuant to the Policy Manual.
