We are seeking a skilled Nursing Unit Assistant to join our team at Nicola Valley Health Centre in Merritt, B.C.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prioritize and process physicians' orders, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Act as a communication link for the unit, facilitating effective communication among staff and patients.
  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, maintaining accurate records and ensuring seamless transitions.
  • Assemble and maintain patient charts, inputting data and transcribing information into relevant systems.
  • Perform various clerical duties, including data entry, filing, and report preparation.
  • Maintain accurate timekeeping records for regular and relief staff, submitting payroll information as required.
  • Respond to patient call signals, relaying messages to relevant personnel.
Requirements
  • Completion of Grade 12
  • A current Typing Test of 40 wpm or greater, completed within the past 48 months from a recognized institution
  • A Nursing Unit Clerk Certificate
  • A resume and cover letter stating availability to start in a new position
