About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Development Engineer to join our team at Guidewire Software. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying cloud-native software applications for the property and casualty insurance industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop high-quality, scalable, and secure software applications using cloud-native technologies and frameworks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, architects, and operations teams, to ensure seamless integration and deployment of software applications.
  • Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks to ensure high-quality software applications.
  • Work with highly skilled team members to design and implement infrastructure and software that meets the needs of our customers.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant work experience in software development, with a strong focus on cloud-native technologies and frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of microservices architecture concepts, including service discovery and API gateways.
  • Experience with Linux debugging and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages, including Java, Golang, NodeJS, Python, or equivalent.
  • Advocate for IaaS abstractions, containers technologies, and cloud platforms, including Kubernetes, Mesos, Cloud Foundry, OpenShift, Docker, AWS, GCP, Azure, and Serverless.
  • Promote proven architectures and design principles, including SOLID and Hexagonal.
  • Methodically approach distributed tracing and monitoring of applications.
  • Reinforce sound repeatable automated services.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management, using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
  • Experience with Spring Boot and Bash programming skills.
  • Startup mentality.
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science or Math, or equivalent level of proven professional proficiency.
