Job Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing maintenance and repair services on non-technical facility components, including walls, floors, and other general handyman-type work. This role requires a strong understanding of facility operations and maintenance processes, as well as the ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair non-technical facility components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance and repair services on non-technical facility components, including walls, floors, and other general handyman-type work.
  • Conduct regular facility and facility non-technical component monitoring and inspection.
  • Provide observations about facility and facility non-technical component conditions and deficiencies, and provide suggestions for enhancements and repair.
  • Respond to routine and on-demand service requests.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repair work to non-technical components within the facility.
  • Record resolution data within service maintenance management database.
  • Assist in the implementation of preventative maintenance (PM) program.
  • Participate in and assist with facility-related projects.
Requirements
  • High school education.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of facility operations and maintenance work experience.
  • Trade-related training an asset.
  • Ability to adhere and properly execute processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenance.
  • Ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair non-technical facility components.
  • Ability to provide observations about facility conditions and deficiencies and provide suggestions for enhancement and repair.
  • Ability to research, learn, and gain greater proficiency in applying on-the-job fire, life, safety, and building codes and standards.
  • Possesses a strong environmental, health, and safety mindset.
  • Valid drivers' license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrates an interest in enrolling and completing a trades certification or license.
