UX/UI Designer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled UX/UI Designer to lead the design of user experiences and contribute to the development of foundational strategies and processes, resulting in increased user satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  1. User-Centred Design: Create designs that meet business requirements, advocate for the customer, and ensure maximum usefulness.
  2. User Research: Conduct research to deliver the real needs of our users with engaging personas.
  3. Design Development: Develop user flows, wireframes, and contextual inquiries.
  4. Prototyping and Testing: Prototype and conduct user testing, including running UX workshops and performing usability tests.
  5. UI Design: Design all visual touchpoints.
  6. Collaboration: Work closely with business partners, engineering developers, and data architects to understand business and functional requirements, as well as technical considerations.
  7. Design Consistency: Manage and own the creation of consistent experiences across products and platforms through user-centred design processes.
  8. Complex Application Design: Participate in the ideation and experience design of complex applications for web and mobile.
  9. Design Quality: Collaborate with development teams to ensure the design quality is maintained downstream.
  10. Design Communication: Educate and articulate the thinking and strategy behind your work and design decisions.
  11. Design Validation: Conduct and coordinate design walkthroughs, feedback sessions, and usability testing to validate proposed design solutions with stakeholders and end-users.
Requirements
  1. 5+ years of experience in UX, specializing in digital product development.
  2. A strong portfolio demonstrating a diversity of relevant work that encompasses UX expertise, interaction design, creativity, and critical thinking.
  3. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch, Invision, and Balsamiq.
  4. Great communicator of complex ideas clearly and thrive in a fast Agile environment.
  5. Collaborative with a robust ability to build positive relationships with cross-departmental teams and influence decision-making while educating all stakeholders.
  6. Rapid wireframing and prototyping skills, with the competency to interpret data and user feedback to drive iterative improvements.

This is a permanent position located in downtown Toronto, ON (work from home until deemed safe).
