Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Valve Specialist to join our team at our Railcar Maintenance Center in Montreal. As a Valve Specialist, you will be responsible for the reconditioning and regular maintenance of valves to ensure they are functioning properly. This includes dismantling, assembling, and performing advanced troubleshooting activities on valves in accordance with applicable procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Test, install, renew, and/or repair rail car valves and hoses, including acid car safety hoses and high and low pressure dome hoses.
  • Perform flaring work while wearing all necessary personal protective equipment.
  • Drill and tap holes to remove valves.
  • Perform non-destructive testing on different types of parts, including newly purchased parts.
  • Properly generate and maintain data related to valve inspection results.
  • Follow all NDE and quality procedures.
  • Be up to date on customer regulations and GATX procedural standards as required.
Requirements
  • High school diploma combined with 2 to 5 years of experience in railcar repair.
  • Knowledge of NDT processes and valid NDT certificates or willingness to take courses.
  • Computer knowledge and good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to deal with changes effectively and dynamically value-oriented with a positive attitude.
  • Team spirit and ability to make good decisions based on analysis and judgment.

Work hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM. Work location: 9300 Boulevard Maurice Duplessis, Montreal, QC H1E 1M7.
