Palliative Care Support Worker Job Description

Spectrum Health Care is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Palliative Care Support Worker to join our team. As a Palliative Care Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients and their families in their homes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist patients with personal care and activities of daily living, such as bathing, toileting, and hygiene.
  • Provide companionship and comfort to patients, creating a calm and respectful environment tailored to their needs and preferences.
  • Assist with light housekeeping duties, such as washing dishes and laundry.
  • Travel within assigned regions to provide care to patients in their homes.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
Requirements:
  • Valid Personal Support Worker Certificate from a Ministry-approved program.
  • Experience working in a community health care setting, preferably in palliative care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the role.
