Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources professional to join our team as a Staffing Manager. This role will be responsible for driving performance management and succession planning for our site, while also partnering with the Regional Director of Operations and site leadership team to drive human resources strategies aligned to meet site goals and priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and drive training initiatives to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
  • Lead and manage all employee relations issues, including fostering a culture where employees feel productive and valuable contributors to the business.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance on all Canadian regulations throughout the site are applied and adhered to.
  • Work closely with the SAS Human Resources team on global or domestic Human Resources projects.
  • Evaluate and modernize current systems, policies and practices to reflect current best practices within the Human Resources function.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business.
  • 7-10 years HR Generalist experience; 3+ years of HR Management.
  • Strong background in practicing HR in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.).
  • Knowledge of Canadian laws and government regulations.
  • In-depth knowledge of WSIB practices.
  • Labor relations and contract bargaining background.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the organization.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and relationship building techniques.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Must be trustworthy and maintain confidentiality.
  • Experience with HRIS Systems.
  • Supervised a minimum of 1 direct report in the past.
