Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Probation Officer/Community Youth Worker to join our team at the Government of Saskatchewan. As a Probation Officer/Community Youth Worker, you will work with adult and young offenders, providing programs and services to support their rehabilitation and reintegration into the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with adolescents and adults in a diverse environment, providing individualized support and services.
  • Collaborate with community agencies, organizations, and government personnel to develop and implement effective case management plans.
  • Conduct risk assessments, develop and implement programming and interventions, and maintain accurate client records.
  • Work with victims of criminal offenses and provide support and services as needed.
  • Travel to various locations and work flexible hours, including evenings, as required.

Requirements

  • Degree in human services or a related field, such as Social Work, Indigenous Social Work, Human Justice, Education, Arts: Justice Studies, Psychology, Sociology, Criminology, Police Studies, or Indigenous Studies.
  • Grandfathering provisions may be considered for those with acceptable correctional and/or human behavioral work experience.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and experience in contributing factors of criminal behaviors, theories and intervention strategies, and systemic barriers that affect individuals and communities.
