Job Title: Probation Officer/Community Youth Worker

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Probation Officer/Community Youth Worker in our Yorkton office.

About the Role

This is a term employment opportunity with the Government of Saskatchewan, working within Community Corrections. As a Probation Officer/Community Youth Worker, you will be responsible for providing programs and services to adult and young offenders, working closely with adolescents and adults in a diverse environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with community agencies, other organizations, and government personnel to provide comprehensive support services.
  • Conduct home and community assessments, risk assessments, and develop case management plans.
  • Develop and implement programming and interventions to support offenders in achieving their rehabilitation goals.
  • Work with victims of criminal offenses and provide support and resources as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and updated client files and records.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will possess a degree in human services or a related field, such as Social Work, Indigenous Social Work, Human Justice, Education, Arts: Justice Studies, Psychology, Sociology, Criminology, Police Studies, or Indigenous Studies. You will also have knowledge and experience in contributing factors of criminal behaviors, theories and intervention strategies, and systemic barriers that affect individuals and communities.
