We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Forensic Care Assistant to join our team at Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care. As a Forensic Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing personal care and support to individuals with mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide personal care and support to patients, including assistance with activities of daily living and life skills.
  • Work under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Practical Nurse to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Assist patients in developing acceptable social behavior and provide direct basic care as needed.
  • Provide patient-centered, recovery-oriented support to individuals and their families, focusing on their health care choices.
  • Support care activities as required and identified in the patient care plan.
  • Provide assistance to other disciplines by helping with activities such as recreational and life skills acquisition programming.
  • Participate in mandatory and self-directed education as required.
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • A certificate, diploma, in a health-related field is preferred.
  • Previous health/emergency services experience and/or familiarity with clinical care and issues specific to mental health and/or addiction settings is preferred.
  • Current CPR and First Aid required.
