We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Hi-Quality Homes Inc. as a key member of our construction team.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare detailed estimates of labour and material costs for residential construction projects
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements and ensure compliance with building codes
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials to construct and renovate residential structures
- Prepare and submit tenders and quotations for construction projects
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems for residential construction projects
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware for residential construction projects
- Schedule and coordinate work on construction sites to ensure timely completion of projects
- Survey building locations and levels to ensure accuracy and precision
- Instruct and supervise apprentices and other workers on construction sites
- Estimate costs and materials for construction projects
- Operate computer-aided design (CADD) and other software systems to design and plan construction projects
- Maintain, repair, and renovate residential structures in various settings, including mills, mines, hospitals, and industrial plants
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced construction environment with varying weather conditions, heights, and physical demands.
Requirements- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- 1-2 years of experience in carpentry or a related field
- Ability to work at heights, in noisy and dusty environments, and outdoors
- Strong physical stamina and ability to handle heavy loads
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
