Position Overview

The Exhibit Installation Coordinator is accountable for overseeing and ensuring that the assembly and disassembly of exhibits in the field are conducted efficiently and in a cost-effective manner, aligning with client specifications. Additionally, this role involves working in the carpentry workshop to fabricate exhibit components during non-installation periods.

Key Responsibilities

Exhibit Assembly and Disassembly:

  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to ascertain specifications.
  • Generate verified pull lists and determine crating requirements.
  • Assemble and stage exhibits or products for client inspection and quality assurance.
  • Disassemble staged exhibits, ensuring safe packing and preparing a bill of materials.
  • Manage transportation of products.
  • Conduct installation and dismantling of exhibits.
  • Assign tasks and communicate relevant information to on-site personnel.
  • Inspire and motivate on-site staff.
  • Implement and uphold Health and Safety policies.
  • Address special requests from clients.
  • Supervise on-site labor during events.
  • Resolve on-site issues effectively.
  • Propose cost-saving strategies.
  • Engage in problem-solving on-site.

Administrative Duties:

  • Complete reports related to field service jobs, including service contractor documentation.
  • Prepare outbound labels and bills of lading, submitting necessary paperwork to management.
  • Document on-site modifications and associated costs for client approval.
  • Maintain accurate reports concerning field service activities.

Exhibit Construction and Repair:

  • Adhere to standards and procedures, making adjustments as required.
  • Fabricate components within the available timeframe.
  • Laminate and finish materials according to specifications.
  • Utilize tools for measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling materials.

Equipment Operation:

  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair equipment malfunctions.
  • Assess new equipment and techniques, providing recommendations to management.

Workplace Safety and Cleanliness:

  • Comply with all safety regulations and guidelines.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Completion of secondary education.
  • Successful completion of a three to four-year apprenticeship program.
  • Alternatively, a combination of over four years of relevant work experience and some high school, college, or industry courses in carpentry.
  • Valid passport and willingness to travel as required.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and weekends when necessary.
  • Ability to perform under significant time constraints and pressure.
  • Proficient understanding of exhibit construction and materials.
  • Familiarity with trade shows, show management, and graphic arts.
  • Carpentry experience is advantageous.
