Position Overview

The Glynmill Inn Incorporated is seeking a dedicated Hotel Reception Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring a seamless experience for our guests from the moment they arrive until their departure.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of a relevant trades certificate or diploma is preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is considered an asset.
Work Environment
  • Located in an urban setting.
  • Work within a hotel, motel, or resort atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome guests upon arrival and assign appropriate accommodations.
  • Manage group check-ins and check-outs efficiently.
  • Handle room reservations, including modifications and cancellations.
  • Provide comprehensive information regarding hotel amenities and services.
  • Assist guests with inquiries about local attractions and points of interest.
  • Facilitate guest departures, calculate charges, and process payments.
  • Maintain accurate records of room availability, reservations, and assignments.
  • Adhere to safety and emergency protocols.
  • Perform clerical tasks such as faxing, filing, and photocopying.
  • Answer phone calls and relay messages promptly.
  • Contact guests for wake-up calls as requested.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service at all times.
Technical Skills
  • Proficient in operating a multi-line switchboard.
  • Familiarity with database software and central reservation systems (CRS).
  • Comfortable using the internet for various tasks.
Safety and Security
  • Must undergo a criminal record check.
Transportation Requirements
  • Personal transportation is necessary.
