The position of Recreation Therapist II, Clinical Lead, plays a pivotal role in providing clinical guidance within various healthcare settings. This includes responsibilities at multiple facilities, ensuring a high standard of therapeutic recreation practice across different care environments.
Role Responsibilities:
As a Recreation Therapist II, you will assume a leadership position, promoting evidence-based, patient-focused therapeutic recreation services. Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Delivering clinical oversight to guarantee safe and effective patient care.
- Coordinating comprehensive assessments, treatments, education, and care for clients.
- Engaging in program development to enhance service delivery, including creating protocols, educational materials, and quality improvement strategies.
- Conducting assessments and managing client treatment progress while providing expert clinical support and consultation.
- Collaborating with the healthcare team and participating in interdisciplinary meetings and family discussions related to client care.
Essential Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, or Recreation and Leisure Studies is required. Candidates must hold or be eligible for professional registration with the Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA). A minimum of three years of relevant clinical experience as a Recreation Therapist is also necessary.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, Motivational Interviewing, and Health Change Methodology is advantageous.
