Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a dedicated Physiotherapist to become part of the Long Term Care team. We encourage you to consider this opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
Responsibilities of the Physiotherapist at VCH include:
Independently designing, implementing, assessing, and coordinating care to meet the needs of clients and families facing physical challenges and health conditions in various settings. Engaging with family members, interdisciplinary teams, educational resources, and other healthcare professionals to address the comprehensive needs of clients, promoting their capabilities and facilitating recovery or adaptation to health challenges. Participating in the organization and delivery of physiotherapy services through involvement in quality assurance initiatives, team meetings, research, and educational activities.Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
A degree in physiotherapy or rehabilitation sciences. Full registration with the College of Physical Therapists of BC (CPTBC). Eligibility for membership in the Physiotherapy Association of British Columbia (PABC). A valid BC Driver's License is required, as local travel necessitates the use of a personal vehicle.Skills & Competencies
Fundamental understanding of evidence-based clinical practices relevant to the designated area. Familiarity with standardized physiotherapy assessments and measures. Comprehensive knowledge of physiotherapy principles and practices within a client-centered care framework. Basic understanding of research methodologies. Awareness of various healthcare disciplines and their contributions to client care. Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment. Capability to educate and empower clients in managing their health. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with colleagues and clients, both individually and in group settings. Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively. Proficiency in providing effective consultations. Skill in prioritizing workloads in collaboration with others in a complex healthcare setting. Ability to identify when referrals to other healthcare professionals are necessary. Physical capability to fulfill the duties of the position. Competence in using physiotherapy equipment and techniques. Basic computer skills.Additional Information
Work hours, including days off and work areas, may be adjusted based on operational needs and applicable agreements. Successful candidates may need to undergo a Criminal Records Review Check.
