Senior Software Engineer, Data Storage

Brex Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Data Storage team. As a key member of our Engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the infrastructure platform that supports our products and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable and reliable data storage solutions using cloud-based technologies such as AWS and Kubernetes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify requirements and challenges related to data storage and develop solutions to address them.
- Mentor junior engineers on best practices for database modeling and query optimization.
- Participate in on-call rotations to respond to incidents and ensure service reliability.
- Work closely with other engineers to design, operate, and scale systems to meet the needs of our customers.
Requirements:
- Significant experience in database modeling, operation, and administration with common open-source technologies such as PostgreSQL.
- Significant experience in systems software development, preferably in DevOps.
- 4+ years of experience working in AWS or equivalent cloud provider.
- 2+ years of experience working with Kubernetes environments.
- Experience working with at least one programming language (e.g. Golang, Java, Python).
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Interest in adjacent issues such as compliance, confidentiality, and security.
- Ability to discuss thorny issues of concurrency and correctness.
What We Offer:
Brex Inc. offers a competitive salary range of $192,000 CAD - $240,000 CAD, depending on location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity. Equity and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.
