Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Window and Door Fabrication Specialist to join our team at Canada Windows and Doors. This is a permanent position that requires a commitment to quality and precision in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Education: Candidates should possess a certificate or diploma in other trades.

Work Environment
  • Conditions: The work environment can be noisy and dusty.
  • Relocation: Willingness to relocate is required, as relocation costs are not covered by the employer.
  • Setting: Work will primarily take place in a warehouse setting.
Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Inspect manufactured items for defects and ensure they meet specifications.
  • Load, feed, or place materials into machinery.
  • Operate machinery to fabricate parts and products.
  • Utilize hand tools to sand, trim, grind, or clean products into their final form.
  • Assemble parts and components using various methods including screwing, clipping, gluing, bonding, and welding.
  • Cut, shape, and fit materials to create parts and components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications.
  • Welding experience is an asset.
Supervision

Supervision will be provided by structural metal and platework fabricators and fitters.

Materials and Equipment
  • Types of Materials: Experience with fibreglass and wood is preferred.
  • Instruments: Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments is required.
  • Equipment: Familiarity with cutting machines and hand tools is essential.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Capable of handling heavy loads, up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • Physically demanding role requiring attention to detail.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment.
Safety and Tools

Employees are expected to provide their own tools and safety equipment, including:

  • Safety glasses/goggles
  • Gloves
  • Ear plugs
  • Steel-toed safety boots
