CIBC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager to join our Business Controls team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for reviewing compliance monitoring reviews, drafting monitoring reports, and delivering continuous, insightful, and actionable analytics to support compliance monitoring activities.
Key Responsibilities- Compliance Monitoring: Lead a team and individually perform tier one investment compliance monitoring, controls testing and design, risk assessment, and due diligence of all mutual fund and other portfolios managed by CAMI, including sub-advisor funds.
- Investigations: Assess whether adequate key controls are in place and operating effectively, and provide recommendations to enhance operational processes controls.
- Committee Support: Prepare documentation for the Business Controls Quarterly Committee, including drafting minutes and tracking management action plans.
- Asset Management Compliance: Monitor adherence with legal and regulatory requirements, corporate policies, and guidelines mutually agreed by the business and portfolio managers.
- Oversight: Monitor CIBC's policy and regulators' requirements related to Social Media and Email surveillance to ensure that our brand, reputation, clients, and information are protected.
- Standards Diligence: Monitor CIBC's applicable Regulatory Requirements related to the prevention of Bribery and Corruption.
- Best Practice Review: Conduct a sample-based review of emails to detect and prevent financial crime and non-compliance within financial organizations.
- Bloomberg Knowledge: Produce Compliance reports for ongoing monitoring, extract and examine violation rules report, and create Bloomberg API for intra-day pricing.
- Team Collaboration: Share knowledge with team members, assist with reviews, and implement changes to strengthen processes.
- Reporting: Accurately produce reports to a standard required for regulatory reporting.
- Education: University degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
- Experience: Five plus years of asset management compliance reviews or related experiences.
- Skills: Exceptional communication and inter-personal skills, ability to document complex occurrences, knowledge of Bloomberg, and working knowledge of different financial markets and regulatory requirements.
- Language: Fluency in French and English to support business operations outside of Quebec, Canada.
