We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Landscaping Supervisor to join our team at Norse Landscapes Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and construction of our landscapes, ensuring that our clients receive exceptional service and results.
Key Responsibilities- Schedule Work: Plan and coordinate the daily tasks and activities of our grounds maintenance team.
- Plan and Direct Grounds Maintenance: Develop and implement effective maintenance plans to ensure our landscapes remain healthy and visually appealing.
- Plan, Manage and Supervise Landscape Construction Work: Oversee the construction of new landscapes, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
- Maintain Work Records and Logs: Accurately record and maintain records of all work completed, including hours worked, materials used, and any issues or concerns.
- Read Blueprints and Drawings: Interpret and understand blueprints and drawings to ensure that construction projects are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Repair and Maintain Equipment: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment to ensure that it remains in good working order.
- Supervise Nursery and Greenhouse Workers: Provide guidance and support to our nursery and greenhouse staff, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Establish Work Schedules and Procedures: Develop and implement effective work schedules and procedures to ensure that our team is working efficiently and effectively.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
- Work Site Environment: Outdoors.
- Tasks: Schedule work, plan and direct grounds maintenance, plan, manage and supervise landscape construction work, maintain work records and logs, read blueprints and drawings, repair and maintain equipment, supervise nursery and greenhouse workers, establish work schedules and procedures.
- Supervision: 3-4 people.
- Area of Work Experience: Snow removal.
- Area of Specialization: Interior landscaping, lawn care, grounds maintenance, landscape construction.
- Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver's licence.
- Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, physically demanding, manual dexterity, attention to detail, standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling.
- Personal Suitability: Initiative, judgement, team player, flexibility.
- Permanent Full-Time Position: 35 to 44 hours per week.
- Language of Work: English.
- Relocation Assistance: Available for the right candidate.
