Job Overview

This position requires on-site work; remote options are not available.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal counsel to clients regarding their rights and various legal matters.
  • Manage administrative tasks associated with legal practice.
  • Oversee management duties pertinent to legal operations.
  • Represent clients in legal proceedings before courts and tribunals.
  • Prepare legal documents and formulate legal opinions.
  • Draft legislative proposals for government consideration.
  • Safeguard the interests of the organization in all legal affairs.
  • Facilitate mediation, conciliation, and arbitration processes.
  • Recruit and onboard new staff members.
  • Supervise legal professionals, paralegals, support staff, and interns.
  • Conduct workshops on legal topics.
  • Research legal precedents and compile evidence.
  • Deliver public education seminars on legal issues.
  • Contribute to legal publications through writing and editing.
Supervision

Responsible for overseeing a team of 3-4 individuals.

Qualifications
  • Must hold membership in the Canadian Bar Association.
Technical Skills
  • Proficient in MS Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Windows, Word, Project, and MAC.
Work Environment
  • Fast-paced setting with potential for overtime.
