About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and physically fit individual to join our team as a Fishboat Deckhand at Young Guns Fisheries Limited. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for assisting in the operation of our fishing gear and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the deck and fish hold.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and Maintenance of Fishing Gear
    • Prepare nets, lines, and other fishing tackle for use
    • Repair nets, splice ropes, and maintain fishing gear and other deck equipment
  • Catch Handling and Processing
    • Clean, sort, and pack fish in ice and stow catch in hold
  • Deck Maintenance
    • Clean deck surfaces and fish hold
Work Environment

As a Fishboat Deckhand, you will be working in a fast-paced environment with exposure to the elements. You will be required to handle heavy loads and work in confined spaces. The work is physically demanding and requires standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, and kneeling.
