The York Region District School Board is a prominent educational institution dedicated to fostering academic excellence. We are currently in search of talented educators to join our team as we expand our educational offerings.
Position Available:We are seeking a highly qualified, dynamic, and experienced Mathematics and Science Teacher certified in Alberta for Grades 6, 7, 8, and 9. Candidates must possess a valid Alberta teaching certificate or an interim certificate from Alberta Education.
Qualifications:- Alberta Teaching Certification (mandatory)
- Exceptional teaching evaluations and professional references
- Experience with students who have Learning Disabilities and/or ADHD is preferred
- Demonstrated Skills and Competencies
- Excellent instructional and classroom management abilities
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Integrity and trustworthiness
- Ability to build trust and rapport with students
- Proficiency in utilizing technology to enhance student learning
- Respect and sensitivity towards diversity
Applicants must submit a cover letter, resume, references, and a police check for working with vulnerable populations prior to employment.
Requirements and Qualities:- Adaptability to a dynamic environment with a positive and flexible approach
- Effective communication skills with administration, students, and parents
- Ability to implement pre-planned lessons and deliver the Alberta Education curriculum effectively
- Respect for Islamic faith and culture
Execute the prescribed program of study as outlined in the lesson plan.
Create a learning environment that is conducive to student engagement and aligns with their maturity and interests.
Guide the learning process towards achieving curriculum goals and objectives.
Utilize appropriate instructional methods and materials to meet lesson objectives.
Maintain an organized classroom environment, ensuring all materials are in order.
Record attendance in accordance with school protocols.
Ensure students are supervised at all times during classroom activities.
Monitor students during outdoor supervision duties.
Be familiar with emergency evacuation procedures and exits.
Address student conflicts and disruptions appropriately.
Adhere to school policies and regulations.
Contract Length: 10 months
