Director of AI-Driven Cybersecurity

Position Overview

We are looking for a seasoned and visionary leader to join our cybersecurity division as the Head of Cybersecurity AI/ML Data Science. The ideal candidate will guide the organization in defining and executing our strategies for artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) in cybersecurity, enhancing our capabilities in threat detection, incident response, and insider threat management. This role demands a seasoned expert with practical experience in both developing and leading AI/ML initiatives within the cybersecurity landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee a team of AI/ML data scientists and researchers to foster innovation in cybersecurity.
  • Formulate and execute the comprehensive AI/ML strategy for cybersecurity, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Provide strategic and tactical direction, including thought leadership on the integration of advanced AI/ML technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and security experts to identify emerging threats and incorporate solutions into the cybersecurity framework.
  • Articulate and document technical requirements to support engineering and architectural decisions.
  • Supervise the creation of advanced analytical models for threat detection, response, and prediction to uncover patterns, anomalies, and trends.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in AI/ML and cybersecurity to guide strategic decisions.
  • Work closely with cybersecurity professionals to understand emerging threats and devise proactive defense strategies.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous learning, research, and experimentation within the AI/ML cybersecurity team.

Qualifications

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in applying machine learning and data science methodologies to cybersecurity challenges.
  • Proven ability to achieve results, make strategic choices, and lead a high-performing team.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles, protocols, technologies, and threat analysis.
  • Strong programming proficiency in languages such as Python, R, Bash, Java, etc.
  • Experience with Cloud Service Providers (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure), containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), virtualization techniques (e.g., Hypervisors), big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Athena, Redshift, Bigquery), and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI).
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Relevant industry certifications in cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CISM, GSEC, GCIH, GCFA, etc.).
  • Prior experience in a leadership capacity within a cybersecurity or AI/ML-focused organization.
  • A strong desire to excel at Equinix and transform global connectivity.
