Job Summary

The Unit Coordination Assistant provides administrative support to the healthcare team, ensuring the smooth operation of the unit. This role involves coordinating patient information, managing unit reception, and performing various administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and manages patient information, ensuring accurate and timely communication.
  • Updates patient demographics and maintains accurate records.
  • Liaises with internal departments and external partners to book appointments, tests, and patient transfers.
  • Enters data into the Critical Care Information System (CCIS) and other relevant systems.
  • Provides excellent customer service, responding to patient and family inquiries, and escalating concerns as needed.
  • Assists with unit operations, including ordering supplies, maintaining equipment, and preparing work orders.
  • Supports the Clinical/Team Leader with scheduling, timekeeping, and payroll tasks.
  • Updates patient visitor lists and maintains accurate records.
  • Performs other administrative tasks as required to support the unit's operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in healthcare administration is an asset.
  • 1-2 years of experience in an administrative role, preferably in a healthcare environment.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
